Before the porcelain is sent to be fired at around 1,200°C, an additive created using silver, is added to the porcelain's mixture. Adding the additive in the initial stages, compared to after the porcelain has been fired, means that the protective element cannot fade or scratch over time. Adding the additive to the mixture also means that you don't have to keep wiping the surface with antibacterial cleaners or other products to ensure its effectiveness. Constructing the additive using silver means that the surface of the tile is effective at beating 99.9% of all bacteria.

Some bacteria can actually replicate on surfaces in less than twenty minutes, which is why cleaning and maintaining the hygiene of your floors, walls and other surfaces is crucial.
